Because She Matters…

It has often been asked why Daughters of Worth was created.  As I think of all of the girls who have entered my life throughout these years, the answer that resonates deep within my heart is this…  Daughters of Worth exists Because She Matters.

Every single day,  girls and women in every nation and every culture are being saturated with a message that they are simply not enough.  We are told that our value is based on our appearance, our wealth, our social status, our possessions, our performance.  And every single night, we have girls and women going to bed with tears in their eyes, questioning if they truly matter, if their life makes a difference at all.

There is a message that not only needs to be delivered, but to be received and embraced by girls and women everywhere.  A message of love, acceptance, encouragement and ultimately, Hope.  There is a message that needs to be delivered to these precious ones to remind them that they are loved, treasured, valuable and simply worth more.

Daughters of Worth was created as a way to deliver this message.  Understanding that we cannot change the backgrounds that many of these girls are coming from..  we cannot erase the pain in their lives .. and we cannot shelter them from all of the conflict and frustrations that they will face in life.  However, we can do something!  We can surround these precious girls with strong women who will love them, encourage them, support them and simply walk through life with them!

We will offer a safe haven of hope and encouragement.  We will talk about the matters of the heart and the things that matter most to them.  We will provide them with opportunities to develop new skills, to enhance their leadership ability, to serve the community and to seek to serve others.  We will offer wisdom, counsel and simply be a friend in their darkest moments and in their most joyful days.  We will share the lessons of our personal lives and extend ourselves to serve them when they need it most.

Daughters of Worth is a unique mentorship program that exists to educate, equip and empower teen girls to become strong women of influence in their communities.  We exist simply….  Because She Matters!

  1. Hello Liz,

My name is Jennifer Hardee. I live in Ayden, NC and work for PORT Health Services. I learned about your organization via a work email. I am a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist and have spent most of my career working with teens. With the help of an amazing team, I oversee 3 teen substance use treatment programs for girls and boys. This work is so important and much of what we do with our girls centers around self worth, value, roles and self care. After getting an email about the GLAM awards I visited your website and was so impressed and in awe at the work you are doing! Its wonderful and so important. I would love to have a conversation with you about how I can get involved and potentially get others involved. I wasn’t sure if sending a message via the website was the right way to reach you, so if you would like to call me instead please feel free….252-531-8675 or you can email me at jenniferhardee718@gmail.com

Look forward to hearing from you! Stay warm!
